Stapler in Jello

  1. Make Jell-O but only fill half the bowl.
  2. Then put it in the fridge and wait for it to set.
  3. When it has set take it out of the fridge.
  4. Put the object on top of the set Jell-O.
  5. Make more Jell-O and put it on top so it covers the object.
  6. Put it in the fridge to set.
  7. When it has set you should have an object in Jell-O.

Tips

  • If you want to have the Jell-o “sitting” by itself, outside of the bowl, use the “jiggler” recipe on the box. When the Jell-o has set, place the bowl in a pan of warm water, then just jiggle the mold out of the bowl, and the object will be suspended inside the Jell-o.
  • Make sure that the Jello is only ‘mostly set’ or is slightly sticky on top. If you wait until it is fully set, it will separate into 2 sections and people will know how you did it.
  • If your object will float in water then use slightly thickened Jello for the top layer.
  • Make sure the item sitting in the Jell-o is food grade (not poisonous) and that the object is waterproof.

Warnings

  • Make both Jell-O’s the same color or it will look odd and people will know how you did it.

Things You’ll Need

  • A big bowl to put it in. (Clear plastic or glass recommended so you can see the object inside)
  • Jell-O (2 of same color)
  • Fridge
  • Object
