Recap of Launch Party

I feel bad for being a few days late on my recap of last Thursday’s ”Launch Party” (Not Lunch Party or Lanch Party according to Angela) …….I have mostly myself to blame though it was a hectic week at work and weekend with kids birthday parties, etc.

But I always say “better late than never” so in keeping with my tradition I will recap my thoughts of last Thursday’s episode.

1. Awesome Dwight Prank by JAM - the IMs were extremely hilarious especially the flashback to previous episode when DunderMiffSys asks “What is a Jim?”  Nice of Pam to feel bad for Dwight in the end and tell him he was the superior one. A+

2.  Awesome cold open - How many times were you distracted by your boss speaking that you concentrated more on the computer screen saver than on him or her speaking?  A+

3.  Meredith asking Jim to sign her pelvic cast.   I could have done without the visual but it is saved by Jim’s scared face.  B

4.  Ryan getting kicked out of someone’s office…..PRICELESS.  A++

5.  Jim and Pam on the rooftop eating pizza for dinner.  I grade this an A for awesome and C for Cute!

6.  Dwight’s race to beat the computer website.  This was a bit lame for Dwight especially the annoying bullhorn but it was a bit recovered by Kelly buying paper online so she can hear the computer say “Thank you for shopping at Dunder Mifflin.”  I give it a C.

7.  Andy serenading Angela.  Angela did her best to be disgusted by Andy but his “too cute” singing was just too much for her and as usual acted evil.  But fear not because I sense that this is not the last we will hear from Andy when it comes to Angela but I give him a B for trying.

8.  Kidnapping the pizza kid.  I thought this was a bit of a stretch and maybe one reason why I think they need to go back to 30 minute episodes. While I love this show and love the idea of seeing it for an hour, I think they are using up the extra 30 minutes with some less than ideal story plots.  The kidnapping is one of those so I give that side story a  C-.

Overall I give this episode a B.

Stay tuned for tomorrow where I preview the Tuesday night re-runs on TBS.

The rules of “shotgun” are very simple and very clear. The first person to shout “shotgun” when you’re within sight of the car gets the front seat. That’s how the game’s played. There are no exceptions for someone with a concussion. - Michael Scott
