The latest webisode is up:
Forgoing the usual setup for a review this week because even though I had my usual notebook sitting in my lap ready to take notes on what I liked and disliked, not a thing was written down. This felt like the old style Office. Granted it did stray outside the actual office with a trip to Schrute Farms, which is always entertaining and can therefore be overlooked. It was nice to have the storyline be focused on something within the walls of the office about an event that is mostly benign and typical for a business (well, maybe not “typical” in the current economy). Thank you Office for spending a week back in your roots. I loved seeing Jim and Pam going head to head, felt bad for Michael have friends for the one day his employees needed something, knew exactly what Dwight was going to do once they all walked into the barn where a priest was waiting, and laughed at Andy stepping in manure and getting beaned in the head with a ball thrown by Mose. All in all, I won’t remember specifics about the episode in a week, only that I could not find any major flaws with it. And I’m okay with that.
But more importantly: What did you think?
Written By: Lee Eisenberg & Gene Stupnitsky
Directed By: Paul Feig
Synopsis (NBC): Oscar informs Michael that the office must spend a $4300 surplus or lose it in next year’s budget. When Michael opens the floor up for suggestions, factions break out and officemates square off against one another in order to get what they want. Meanwhile, Dwight takes Angela and Andy to Schrute Farms to work on their wedding plans.
Previews:
Wanting to relive Season 2 of The Office? Tonight TBS will be airing the episodes “Dwight’s Speech” and “Take Your Daughter To Work Day”. The shows start tonight at 10/9c.
And because I love Dwight’s speech:
Since it is a day of gratitude and all, here is a list of things I am greatful for when it comes to The Office:
- That even now after they are successful and popular, the stars of the show are still so gracious and kind to their fans.
- That Jim and Pam are not only together but on their way to getting married.
- That this show still makes me laugh out loud every week.
- That we had a chance to see Michael in a good relationship for once, even if it didn’t get to last very long.
- That there is no one on the cast who is not extremely talented and hilarious.
- That my sisters and I now have some kind of secret code with each other by quoting the most inane line from the show and we all know exactly what the other is talking about.
- That the love and attention is shared by all the cast members and writers.
Thank you to the producers, cast, writers, and everyone else involved for bringing us so much laughter every week.
The second part of the recent round of webisodes:
There will be no Office tonight because of the holiday. If you must watch NBC tonight, you will find one of my favorite movies–The Incredibles–instead of Must See TV.
But most of us knew that already. Thanks to annaed884 over on livejournal for scanning in the photo and brief article with John, dubbed “Sexiest Funny Guy”, in this year’s edition of People’s Sexiest Men Issue.

My personal thoughts about last night’s episode:
Likes:
- Michael’s reaction to seeing Toby in the cold open just made me think of Alaska’s (former) Senator Ted Stevens and his outburst on the floor of the Senate and all of the fun The Daily Show has had with it.
- You know you’re an Office dork when you recognize the Bob Vance delivery boys who sold Michael the salad as show writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, the guys who wrote The Outburst: Part I, among other things. It’s nice to see the two of them back on air and made me think of them cracking Jenna Fischer up during the Season 2 bloopers on “Valentine’s Day”.
- Loved Creed’s reaction when the cops came into the office.
- Dwight’s talking head about his perfect crime was priceless.
- Jim and Pam’s reaction to the master bedroom of their new house.
Dislikes:
- I was really hoping Dwight would somehow smuggle in a volunteer deputy sheriff’s uniform again like the last time they had a show revolving around drugs, but alas, no.
- While I’m just okay with Toby being back in the office, episodes where he and Michael are going back and forth are rarely my favorites. Yes, I’m going to complain again about Holly not being around. She made Michael human and likable a good portion of the time, and with Toby, Michael just goes crazy and becomes the character that makes me want to turn the channel.
But most importantly: What did you think?
The first of the new webisodes is up. Enjoy!
